Archives of the Nerds: An Interview With John Cleese

Archives of the Nerds: An Interview With John Cleese

Literally the first interview we did after we actually started the website (less than a week after) was none other then John Cleese. This guy has been a hero for all of us at this website. He’s literally spawned generations of fans. Our fathers were into Monty Python and thus got us into it.

When we requested an interview with John his assistant told us that he never does impromptu interviews, let alone ones for a website. Still wide eyed and fresh out of the internet womb we offered to stick around to see if he’d be interested. We waited for two hours only to have his assistant come out and say, “This is really weird because he never does this, but John would love to do an interview after the show.”

So after we collected our jaws off the ground we all screamed like 10 year old girls about to meet Justin Bieber. When we were led backstage to meet up with John our hearts were racing. Once we actually were in the same room with him we were greeted to one of the kindest and polite men on this Earth (as you’ll see in the interview).

John, thanks so much for such an awesome opportunity. You truly showed us why you are one of the greatest entertainers ever.
